The Voice had to be listened to, not only on account of its form but for the matter which it delivered. It gave a message to the country that it needed greatly. It brought to the common people a realization of their duty to concern themselves with their affairs. The common, people were made to take an interest in the manner in which they were governed in the taxes they paid in the return they got from those taxes. This interest in public affairs - politics as you may call it - was to be the concern no longer of the highly educated few but of the many - the poor, the propertyless, the workingmen in town and country. Politics was not to be the concern of a small aristocracy of intellect property of the masses. And with the change in the subjects of politics that Voice bought about also a change in the objects of polities. Till then politics had busied itself mainly with the machinery of Government towards making its personnel more and more native, with proposals for a better distribution of political power, with protests against the sins of omission and of commission of the administration. This Voice switched politics on to concern for the needs of the common people. The improvement of a lot of the poor was to be the main concern of politics and the politician. The improvement, especially of the lives of the people of the neglected villages, was to be Placed before Governments and political organizations as the goal of all political endeavour. The raising of the standard of living of the people of the villages, the finding of subsidiary occupations which would give the agricultural poor work for their enforced leisure during the off season and an addition to (heir exiguous income, the improvement of the housing of the poor, the sanitation, of the villages – these were to be the objectives to be kept in view. In the towns, the slums and cherries were to receive especial attention. There was especially a class of the poor for which that compassionate Voice pleaded and protested. This was for the so-called depressed class, the outcastes of Hindu society. The denial of elementary human rights to this class of people it considered the greatest blot on Hindu society and history. It raised itself in passionate protest against the age-old wrongs of this class and forced those that listened to it to endeavour to remove the most outrageous of them like untouchability. It caused a revolution in Hindu religious practice by having Hindu temples thrown open to these people. It made the care of them a religious duty of the Hindus by re-naming them Harijans. -Mr. Ruthnasami

2. Write a summary of the passage and give it an appropriate title. (15)

Ans) Title: The Voice of the People.

The Voice had to be heard, not only because of how it looked, but also because of what it said. The common people were made to care about how they were governed, how much tax they paid, and what they got in return for that tax. This interest in public affairs, or "politics," was to be something that not just a few people with a lot of education cared about, but everyone, including the poor, those without property, and workers in both the city and the country. Up until that point, politics had mostly been about changing the way the government worked to hire more locals, making suggestions for a better way to divide political power, and protesting the things the government did or didn't do. The main goal of politics and politicians was to help a lot of poor people get better. The goal of all political work was to make people's lives better, especially in the forgotten villages. Special attention was to be paid to the slums and cherries in the towns. There was one group of poor people in particular for whom that kind Voice pleaded and protested. This was for the Hindu society's outcasts, who are called the "depressed class." It was thought to be the worst thing in Hindu society and history that these people were not given basic human rights. It stood up in a passionate protest against the wrongs of this class that had been going on for a long time. Those who listened to it had to try to get rid of the worst of them, like the fact that some people couldn't touch others. It caused a big change in the way Hindus practised their religion by letting these people into their temples.

3. Write a paragraph of 100-150 words on any one of the following topics: (10)

a) Digital world-a boon or a bane?

Ans) Digital media is a boon because it gives you a place to show off your skills and maybe even make money from them. Gen Z is getting a lot of information and different points of view about what's going on in the world. Digital media gives people who don't have a voice a voice and being able to use digital media well brings people together. It's a place for professionals and businesses to meet each other, learn new skills, and find jobs. Introverts now have a safe place to talk to others, which didn't exist before.

Until data security, data privacy, and individual security laws are made stronger, the digital world is a bane. The Aadhar Scheme is a good example. It was a plan that was way ahead of its time. It was supposed to be used to keep track of the people who got money from the government. This was to make sure that dishonest people didn't take advantage of the system. Putting together a digital framework is a great idea, but it can't be done in one night. Everything that has been done so far has been set back, and the current system has no idea what to do. So Digital India is a problem as it is now, but if it's done right, it will be the best thing India has ever done since the Nehru government started building the country after independence.

5. Write a report in 250 words of an interview you had with a Sports Star. (20)

Ans) 01-12-2022, ABC Place

During my interview with Brock Coyle, I learned what he thinks about role models and how the NFL's punishments for bad behaviour and high expectations for athletes should not be taken lightly. I couldn't believe how well Brock answered every question and gave his honest opinion on every subject. The research I had already done for my topic backed up the information Brock told me during our interview. He said that he thought it was a privilege for NFL players to be able to play football for a living, and that they should treat that privilege with respect by acting in a good way. I think it's important for athletes to act like role models. Brock brought up the fact that some players don't think they have to act like role models, but he said it's important to remember that many players are humble and grateful for where they are and act accordingly. Brock said over and over again in the interview that society really does look up to athletes. Since sports are such a big part of our culture, the media and fans watch every move that famous athletes make. During my interview, I asked questions about role models in the league as a whole. I didn't ask Brock about his own experiences or how he's involved in the Seattle community, where I know he's had many chances to talk to kids and fans about his life. I liked doing the interview. Talking to a current NFL player was a surreal experience that I think will help me with the rest of my project.

6. Write a composition of 250-300 words based on any one of the pictures given below: (20)

Ans) The family is the foundation of society. Without a safe, united, and well-organized family structure, society will fall apart. The whole society and country would disappear. For the family to be connected and well-run, everyone must set aside enough time to spend with the other family members. I, like everyone else, have a family. I care a lot about my family. We all live in the same house. Today, I'll tell you about my family. There are four people in our family. My family is made up of me, my parents, and my sister. We are a small family. In a picture, a small family of two adults and two children walk hand in hand through a small park. Let's look at it from the child's point of view in the picture. At night, they usually tell us a nice storey, which we always enjoy. We enjoy every moment we spend with them and save them on our phones. My parents love us both very much and always care about what we need. I am so lucky and thankful to have parents who love and care for me so much. When I'm at school, I miss my family a lot. We all love and care for my mother because she is a wonderful person. Every day, she makes us snacks and dinners that are very tasty. My parents help each other out. My mother teaches us about Indian culture and history so that we can share it with the next generation. We celebrate every holiday with joy and give each other gifts. We live in cities and have a sophisticated way of life, but my parents always make time for me and my sibling. My mom and dad both help me with my homework. We spend some time together at dinner and on the field.
